My Newly Revamped Site

Posted by andrew on July 23rd, 2006

Oh my god, I actually spent the whole day customising this site. And with this post published, I managed to maintain my all time low record of 1 post per month since May, LoL!

Well, I’ve been really busy lately… will let you guys know what I’ve been up to, soon. Still have a couple of things to adjust for this theme. What do you guys think?

Also, I kinda lost my sense of writing direction. Not really sure what I’m supposed to do with this blog. At first, I started this blog as my own record of useful information, then it became a blog for sharing information and some amusing stuff that I’ve came across. After that, it became money oriented and then….hiatus. LoL! Maybe, I will go back to my original intention of starting this blog. See how it goes.

Anyway, if there are still people reading this ….do give me a shout on the comment box. Cheers!

Hey, nice site :P How did you get your blogroll and categories on your frontpage (home)?

Hi, Elessar. I used Wordpress Widget: http://automattic.com/code/widgets/

It’s really easy to use…

Ok, downloaded…now what :P Like, how do i incorporate it into the theme?

There’s instruction in the pack you downloaded. You have to upload certain files/folders via FTP to your server (read the instruction), and activate the widget under “Plugins”. Then, you can go to “Presentation” and see the “Sidebar Widget” tab.

Wow, really easy. Next…gravatars, and i see you have yorus working. Now, may i ask if you used the default comments.php? Because i hate this ‘loop’ crap.

My gravatar is not working properly yet, as you can see I’m still trying to put it at the right place! LoL! Yeah, I’m using the default comments.php, but you need to insert a code in there (comments.php) to get the gravatar.

You can get the code from gravatar.com; I got mine from there last time.

Not to sound pathetic, but i was going to ask if you could e-mail me the comments.php ? I have the worse luck with the comments/loop code, hence, why i had my friend do the code for me.

Sorry, I forgot to mention that you need a Gravatar plugin in order to implement it. For more info, go to http://gravatar.com and go to “Implement”. You can get the plugin and the instruction there.

My comments.php is exactly the same as the default one, except now I’m trying to find the right place to insert the gravatar code. So, I don’t see a point in sending my comments.php to you really, because it’s just the same as the default one.
