Saw this on moneysavingexpert.com, and I immediately signed up! I think it’s very worth it, 6 months of free gym membership in the trendy Cannons or Holmes Place gyms (not the off-peak membership, full membership that you can go anytime) by just buying Prudential Health insurance policy. I requested for a quote online and it only cost me £15 a month. So effectively, I have to pay £90 for the insurance and 6 months of gym membership. It’s a good deal considering the fact that it might cost up to £400 for 6 months gym membership!

The steps for this loophole:
1) Ask for an online quote and choose the following options for the cheapest policy:
* The highest excess of £1000
* The most basic cover
* Exclude London hospitals (you can do this even if you live in London)
2) Then, wait for the insurance pack being posted to your address and activate your gym membership before 28/11/2006.

The catch:
- After six months, you have to pay £25 if you want to cancel the gym membership. So effectively, you pay £115 (£90 + £25). You can still continue the gym membership for a fixed £25 a month (or £50 a month if you choose Holmes Place Kensington, Mayfair, Broadgate or Canary Riverside).

How to cancel?
- After 6 months, you just need to cancel your insurance and your gym membership will automatically be cancelled.
